There was a time when you said ‘roof construction’ the average homeowner and contractor would have agreed that the process was going to be difficult. But at DAMUS we knew it didn’t need to be. From the day we opened our doors back in 1997 our aim has been to make roof construction easy and hassle-free. This was our intention when we acquired the roof manufacturing assets from ColourClad Limited (In receivership), located on Caribbean Drive in Point Lisas. This acquisition was the beginning of what would become a major transformation of the roofing industry.

When we opened DAMUS Roofing it was with a team of five and one roll forming truck along with a conviction that we wanted to build something meaningful. Our success today can be attributed to (3) three key principles we adopted back then. These were a commitment to: deliver top level expertise, ensure service excellence and offer high-grade products. Adopting this approach challenged the status quo and we would eventually change the metal roof industry for good.

We pride ourselves on our customer-led innovation in both product offering and service. In 2000 we introduced the Standing Seam profile and guttering, by 2011 the Antilles 5 was added to our range. That same year we expanded into five (5) new locations across the country. These stores contributed to the adoption of DAMUS’s PVDF-coated metal roofs as an industry standard. Today PVDF roofing represents 70% of our sales. We grew, and currently have eighty (80) team members and five (5) roll-forming trucks. An achievement owed largely to our team’s enthusiasm, commitment, and hard work.

The roofing industry of today has been revolutionised through our commitment to innovation. We were the first to offer the best price guarantee, conduct aerial roof measurements using drone technology, and to create a digital portal for our offering. Customers can shop and get estimates online, as well as track their orders, making the business of roofing accessible and convenient.

Our product range has expanded to include building supplies such as windows, doors, and blinds. Solar panels have also been added to our product lineup. We’ve also engineered and produced our own customisable, painted fencing named D-Fence Systems. As we continue to evolve, one commitment remains constant and that is to make life easier for customers through our service capacity, product range, and manufacturing ability.

For us the relationships we have with our customers continue to inspire us to be better and demand better within the roofing industry. Our vision is to be the benchmark, the standard to which local and regional manufacturers maintain production values for metal roofing and accessories. This is especially important as we begin a new thrust, establishing operations across the region starting in Guyana.

We are also actively implementing initiatives that will empower customers. Our NEX Level Programme is designed to do just that. Preferred partners will have access to our expertise and know-how. Our aim? To invest in our contractors, assisting them in building their own independently successful businesses.
